CT70 Frame Mount Oil Catch Can (Anodized Black)
CT70 Frame Mount Oil Catch Can (Anodized Black)
This oil catch can is custom-designed for Honda CT70 models from 1969 to 1978, mounting securely to the two existing frame holes (known as grab handle holes) for a straightforward, no-mod installation. For 1979+ CT70 models or clone frames like the Icebear Champion, two holes will need to be drilled and tapped in the frame to mount the catch can.
An oil catch can is a smart addition to any bike as it helps regulate crankcase pressure, which improves engine performance and extends the longevity of your ride. It also captures oil vapors before they can escape into the air or be dumped onto the tire or swingarm. By preventing this, the catch can keeps your bike cleaner and safer, reducing oil buildup on key parts and maintaining overall cleanliness.
The kit includes 4 feet of high-quality tubing, allowing you to route it as needed for your setup.
This catch can features four fittings, typically used in the following configuration:
- Rear-facing fitting: Commonly used to mount the breather filter.
- Front top fitting: Routes to the crankcase breather fitting located on the back of the motor.
- Front lower fitting: Can serve as the breather for the back of the motor on smaller engines, be plugged, or be routed to any auxiliary fittings on the head.
- Lower fitting (drain): This fitting is used to drain the catch can. Most commonly, the tubing runs down to the dipstick breather location, allowing collected oil to drain back into the engine to maintain proper oil levels.
