CT70 Original Lighting to Aftermarket Motor – Breakout Adapter Harness
Fits All 6V CT70 Models (1969–1982)
Modern motor, original soul.
This fully labeled plug and play breakout adapter harness is the ultimate solution for anyone upgrading a 6V CT70 (1969–1982) with a 12V CDI engine. Whether you're installing a Lifan 125, YX140, ZS190, Daytona 190, or any other modern motor, this harness lets you keep your complete original wiring, lighting, and handlebar controls — no splicing, no rewiring, no headaches.
Works with Every Setup:
- ✅ Half-wave charging systems
- ✅ Full-wave charging systems
- ✅ Kick-start-only motors (Keep your original 6V bulbs, horn, and battery!)
- ✅ Electric start motors (See 12V conversion notes below)
- ✅ All common 12V CDI-based motors
Important Note for Electric Start Motors:
If your engine includes electric start, you'll need to fully convert your bike to 12V electrical components, including:
- 12V battery and Tray
- 12V bulbs (headlight, tail light, indicator)
- 12V flasher relay (if using turn signals)
- 12V horn
This ensures proper functionality and protects your electrical system.
Features:
- 100% plug-and-play — no cutting or modifications
- Fully labeled with oil and water-resistant tags
- Retains full use of stock handlebar controls and wiring
- Compatible with all 6V CT70 harnesses from 1969 to 1982
- Supports both kick-start and electric-start engines
- Works with half-wave and full-wave charging systems
- Clean, reliable install — perfect for street builds, trail bikes, or resto-mods
Designed for Seamless Integration:
Upgrading to a modern engine brings major performance gains — but wiring it into a vintage CT70 has always been a challenge. This adapter harness eliminates the guesswork, allowing your new 12V CDI motor to work flawlessly with the original 6V electrical system.
If you're converting to a full-wave charging setup, you'll also benefit from improved lighting performance. The headlight stays bright even at idle, giving you a safer and more reliable ride — especially at night or in low-speed conditions.
Unsure if your stator is full-wave or half-wave? It matters! All Bart Moto Co Motors are Full-Wave, but if you bought your motor elsewhere.. check this guide to figure out what you have.
