FKT 12V CDI Engine Swap Wiring Harness

The FKT 12V CDI Engine Swap Wiring Harness is a complete wiring solution designed to simplify installing a modern aftermarket engine into your mini bike while retaining full functionality.

Originally developed for our CT70 Full Harness Kit, this standalone version gives you a clean, reliable way to wire electric start, full lighting, and turn signals without piecing together a custom setup.

Compatibility:

This harness is designed to work with horizontal 2-wire AC CDI engines with dual lighting outputs.

Typical wiring includes:

  • Blue/White — trigger
  • Black/Red — CDI power
  • Two lighting output wires (commonly):
    • Yellow / Yellow
    • Yellow / White
    • Yellow / Pink

Common applications:

  • CT70 and clones
  • Z50 / Monkey
  • CT90 / CT110
  • CL70
  • Honda Cub and similar bikes

Best suited for bikes with battery and electrical components mounted near the seat and standard mini bike frame routing.

This standalone version uses a mix of multi-pin connectors and standard terminals to keep the install clean, modular, and easy to service. *Fuel level sensor connection is only available on full wave versions.

Electric Start Compatibility:

This harness is designed to support electric start setups but can also be used on kick-start only engines.

  • For electric start engines: connect starter solenoid and start button as normal
  • For kick-start only engines:
    • Leave the starter solenoid and start button connectors unplugged
    • Tape off or remove the additional red battery jumper wire

Setup Notes:

  • BMC aftermarket motors are FULL WAVE and will run full DC power to all lighting and electrical accessories
  • Non-BMC engines may be either FULL WAVE or HALF WAVE depending on stator type
  • Be sure to select the correct stator output before purchasing
