The YX140 has earned its reputation as one of the most dependable horizontal pit bike engines ever built. Whether you're upgrading a Honda CT70, Z50, ATC70, SL70, XL70, or another Honda mini, the YX140 delivers a huge jump in performance while maintaining the reliability these engines are known for.
With a 56mm bore, 57mm stroke, manual 4 speed transmission, and oil cooled design, the YX140 produces approximately 13.5 horsepower—more than double the output of a stock 70cc Honda engine. The broad torque curve makes it easy to ride around town, climb hills, and comfortably cruise at speeds of 55 MPH with the proper gearing.
The engine features a proven wet multi-plate manual clutch, CDI ignition, full wave stator lighting output suitable for full DC lighting (LED ready), and uses a common 17mm output shaft with an included 17-tooth 420 sprocket. Replacement parts, performance upgrades, and service components are widely available, making the YX140 one of the easiest engines to own and maintain.
